Terms of Use
Last updated: November 2026
1. Scope
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the website refinesociety.com, the free content we provide such as the Refine Social Calendar, and any digital products we sell now or in the future (together the "Services"). Refine Society is a brand of CLAVEMEDIA LTD ("we", "us", the "Provider").
By using the website, requesting free content or purchasing a digital product, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Services.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with the date of the last update. Changes do not affect purchases completed before the change.
2. Provider
CLAVEMEDIA LTD Erofilis 3 8016 Paphos Cyprus Registration number: HE 489138 VAT identification number: CY60333134S Director: Carlotta Weitzel Email: contact@refinesociety.com
3. Free content
Some of our content, such as the Refine Social Calendar, is provided free of charge in exchange for your email address and your consent to receive our emails. Requesting free content does not create a contract of sale. We may change, update or withdraw free content at any time without notice.
Free content is delivered by email after you have confirmed your address. The licence in section 6 applies to free content in the same way as to paid products.
4. Paid digital products
This section applies when we offer digital products for sale, for example future editions of the Social Calendar, guides or other downloadable or online content ("Digital Products").
Description. We describe each Digital Product on the relevant sales page. Minor differences in format or presentation may occur. The description at the time of purchase is decisive.
Conclusion of contract. By completing the checkout you make a binding offer to purchase. The contract is concluded when we confirm your order by email or deliver the Digital Product, whichever comes first.
Prices and payment. Prices are stated in the currency shown at checkout and include VAT where applicable. Payment is processed by a third-party payment provider whose terms apply in addition to these Terms. Access to a Digital Product is granted only after full payment has been received.
Delivery. Digital Products are delivered electronically, by download link, email or access to an online platform, to the email address you provide. Delivery is complete when the access information has been sent to that address. Please make sure the address is correct and check your spam folder.
Right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have a fourteen-day right of withdrawal for purchases made online. For digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium, this right expires once performance has begun, provided that you have expressly agreed to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. We ask for this agreement at checkout. If you do not give it, delivery takes place after the withdrawal period has ended.
Defects. If a Digital Product cannot be accessed because of a technical fault on our side, we will restore access or provide a replacement within a reasonable time. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain unaffected.
5. Who may use the Services
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a Digital Product. Our free content and emails are not directed at anyone under the age of 16.
6. Licence and permitted use
When you receive free content or purchase a Digital Product, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own private purposes. You may save a copy on your own devices and print it for yourself.
You may not, without our prior written consent: (a) share, forward, upload or otherwise make the content available to third parties, whether free of charge or for payment; (b) sell, license, rent or distribute the content, in whole or in part, as your own product or as part of another product or service; (c) rebrand the content or present it under your own name or brand; (d) use the content to provide services to clients, for example as a concierge, travel, event or social media service; (e) reproduce the content beyond what is needed for your personal use, or use it as material for training automated systems; (f) remove or alter any copyright notice or branding.
If you use the content in breach of this section, the licence ends automatically and you must delete all copies in your possession. Section 11 describes the consequences of unauthorised commercial use.
7. Intellectual property
All content published by Refine Society, including texts, selections, structure, graphics, layouts, photographs and downloadable materials, is protected by copyright and related rights and remains the property of CLAVEMEDIA LTD or its licensors. Purchasing or receiving content transfers no ownership rights to you, only the licence in section 6.
The name Refine Society and its logo are trade names of CLAVEMEDIA LTD. Event names, venue names and brand names mentioned in our content belong to their respective owners. Their mention does not imply affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement.
8. Event information
Our content lists events, venues and seasons compiled from publicly available sources and our own research. Dates, locations, prices, dress codes and admission conditions are set by the organisers and can change at any time without our knowledge. We are not affiliated with the organisers, we do not sell tickets, and we cannot guarantee admission to any event.
Please verify every detail with the organiser before you book travel or make other arrangements. Any travel, bookings and participation take place at your own risk and under the organiser's conditions. We accept no liability for changed or cancelled events, refused entry, or costs incurred on the basis of information in our content.
9. No advice and no guaranteed outcomes
Our content is editorial in nature. It does not constitute travel, financial, legal or professional advice, and it does not promise any particular experience, access, social outcome or result.
10. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and in any other case where liability cannot be limited by law.
In all other cases our liability is limited to foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract and, for Digital Products, to the amount you paid for the product concerned. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or damage caused by third-party platforms, organisers, or your own technical environment.
11. Unauthorised commercial use
Unauthorised distribution or commercial exploitation of our content infringes our copyright and these Terms. In such cases we may seek injunctive relief and damages, and we may report criminal copyright infringement to the competent authorities.
If you use our content for commercial purposes in breach of section 6(b), (c) or (d) in the course of a business, trade or profession, you agree to pay liquidated damages of EUR 10,000 for each Digital Product or piece of content concerned. The parties agree that this amount is a genuine pre-estimate of the loss caused by commercial exploitation of content whose value lies in its exclusivity, taking into account the ease of unlimited digital reproduction. We remain entitled to claim proven damages exceeding this amount, and the liquidated damages will be credited against any such claim.
If you act as a consumer, the liquidated damages clause does not apply. In that case we claim the damage actually suffered.
12. Third-party platforms and links
Our content may be delivered through or link to third-party platforms such as email providers, download services or social networks. We are not responsible for the availability, terms or privacy practices of those platforms. Links to external websites are provided for convenience; we have no control over their content.
13. Data protection
How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy at refinesociety.com/privacy-policy. It forms part of these Terms.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. If you are a consumer residing in another country, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country where they offer you greater protection.
The courts of the Republic of Cyprus have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, to the extent permitted by law. Consumers may also bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence.
15. General provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions remain in force. The invalid provision is replaced by a valid one that comes closest to its purpose. Our failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms to another person without our consent. We may transfer our rights and obligations to a successor of our business.
